Application requirements
- New applications for delivery agents have been frozen since October 10, 2007.
- Companies with International Integrated Logistics Services (IILS) approval from MIDA are exempt from this freeze.
- Applicants must be registered under the Business Registration Act 1956 or the Companies Act 2016.
- Minimum paid-up capital must be RM100,000 for Companies Act 1965 registrants or RM50,000 for Business Registration Act 1956 registrants.
- At least one director/manager and one staff member must attend a course, pass an exam, and attend an interview set by the Department.
- Applicants must have at least 40% Bumiputera participation in capital, board of directors, management staff, and assistant staff.
- Companies listed on Bursa Malaysia are exempt from Bumiputera equity participation requirements.
- Approved delivery agents must register as taxpayers under the Service Tax Act 2018 within two weeks of approval.
- Each customs agent must submit a security deposit of RM10,000 in the form of a bond.
