Federation may impose terms and conditions 4 Laws of Malaysia 4 A CT 245 Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia LAWS OF MALAYSIA 5 Act 245 STATE GRANTS (MAINTENANCE OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES) ACT 1981 An Act to provide the restructured local authorities with grants through the State Governments for the specific purpose of assisting the local authorities to maintain themselves. [1 January 1978] WHEREAS by Clause (3) of Article 109 of the Federal Constitution it is provided that Parliament may by law make grants for specific purposes to any of the States on such terms and conditions as may be provided by such law; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED by the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the advice and consent of the Dewan Negara and Dewan Rakyat in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Short title and commencement 1. This Act may be cited as the State Grants (Maintenance of Local Authorities) Act 1981 and shall be deemed to have come into force on 1 January 1978. Grant to any State by the Federation 2. (1) The Federation may from time to time make a grant to anyState for the maintenance of local authorities in that State. (2) The amount of the grant made under subsection (1) shall be determined by the Minister responsible for local government after consultation with the Minister of Finance. 6 Laws of Malaysia ACT 245 Federation may impose terms and conditions 3.
