Overview

The Woodworking / Furniture / Timber Processing Factory Licence is required for businesses involved in the downstream processing of wood, particularly those oriented towards export. It permits the operation of factories that produce finished and semi-finished goods using wood and other raw materials, including the use of waste materials for panel production. This licence also covers drying and preservation plants for wood.

Application requirements

- First Schedule Form - four (4) copies for new applications only - Proforma - four (4) copies - For Sole Proprietorship or Partnership: Business Registration (Form A), Business Change Registration (Form B), and Registration Certificate (Form D) - For Private or Public Companies: Certificate of Incorporation (Form 9) or Certificate of Incorporation for Public Companies (Form 8), Memorandum and Articles of Association, Return of Allotment of Shares (Form 24), Return Giving Particulars in Register of Directors, Managers and Secretaries and Changes of Particulars (Form 49), and a letter from the Company Secretary confirming the company's paid-up capital - Copy of land ownership or tenancy agreement must be included - Comments from other government agencies (to be arranged by the applicant): District Land Office, Local Authority (District Council/ Municipal Council), and Department of Environment - Four site plans: factory location plan, factory site plan, factory building design plan, and machine layout plan

New Application / Renewal Factory Licence Fee for Wood/Furniture/Timber = RM 100.00/year Sawmill = RM 100.00/unit Other machines over 20hp = RM 50.00. Other machines under 20hp = RM 20.00. *hp = Horse Power * Licence validity period: 1 year
