Mining Licence (LMG)

The Mining Licence (LMG) is required to obtain permission from the State Authority to conduct mining activities. It is necessary for individuals and companies that wish to explore and extract minerals. This licence permits the holder to operate within specified areas for mining purposes.

Application requirements

- Applicants must submit the application using completed form 5a along with a location plan and complete company profile. - An application for a mining licence or exploration licence under subsection 41(1) must be made in form 5A or 6A as applicable. - The fee payable for the application is as specified in the first schedule and must be registered upon payment. - If the applied area overlaps with an existing mining licence, the director must be notified as soon as practicable. - All applications for mining and exploration licences will be considered on a quarterly basis. - The last working day of each calendar quarter is the quarterly closing date.

Application fee - RM100.00 Licence issuance fee - RM300.00 Annual holding fee - RM200.00 per unit (*one unit is equivalent to 100 hectares)
