Vesting of property and disposal thereof 4 Laws of Malaysia ACT 391 Incorporation (State Legislatures Competency) 5 LAWS OF MALAYSIA Act 391 FEDERAL HOUSING ACT 1965 An Act to enable the Government of Malaysia to carry out housing schemes. [30 September 1965] BE IT ENACTED by the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the advice and consent of the Dewan Negara and Dewan Rakyat in Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, as follows: Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Federal Housing Act 1965. Interpretation 2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires— “Commissioner” means the Commissioner of the City of Kuala Lumpur; “Minister” means the Minister charged with the responsibility of the Federal housing. Power of Commissioner to carry out housing schemes outside the Municipality 3. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any written law, the Commissioner shall, if directed by the Minister so to do and subject to such directions as the Minister may give, carry out housing schemes outside the limits of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur but within the State of Selangor on lands and with moneys provided for such schemes by the Government of Malaysia. 6 Laws of Malaysia ACT 391 Power to enter into contracts, employ agents, etc. 4. In carrying out such schemes the Commissioner may enter into contracts, employ agents and exercise all powers and do all acts as if the schemes are carried out by the Commissioner under the Local Government Act 1976 [Act 171]. Vesting of property and disposal thereof 5.
