Repeal FIRST SCHEDULE SECOND SCHEDULE 5 LAWS OF MALAYSIA Act 270 ISTANA NEGARA (ROYAL ALLOWANCES) ACT 1982 An Act to make provision for the grant of special allowances and other privileges to a Ruler and his Consort who have held the offices of Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong respectively. [1 July 1981] BE IT ENACTED by the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the advice and consent of the Dewan Negara and Dewan Rakyat in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Short title and commencement 1. This Act may be cited as the Istana Negara (Royal Allowances) Act 1982 and shall be deemed to have come into force on 1 July 1981. Allowance for former Yang di-Pertuan Agong 2. There shall be paid to a Ruler who has held the office of Yang di-Pertuan Agong, for the duration of his life, the monthly allowance specified in Part I of the First Schedule. Allowance for former Raja Permaisuri Agong 3. (1) There shall be paid to the Consort of a Ruler, who has held the office of Raja Permaisuri Agong, for the duration of her life, the monthly allowance specified in Part II of the First Schedule. 6 Laws of Malaysia ACT 270 (2) If the Yang di-Pertuan Agong dies while in office, there shall be granted to his Consort who is holding the office of Raja Permaisuri Agong at the time of the death of such Yang di-Pertuan Agong the allowances and privileges specified in the Second Schedule for the duration of her life in addition to the monthly allowance payable under subsection (1). Payment 4. The monthly allowances payable under section 2 and subsection 3(1) shall— (a) accrue from day to day; and (b) be payable monthly on the last day of each month or on such other day of the month as the Minister of Finance may from time to time determine. Charge on the Consolidated Fund 5. The sums required for the payments under this Act shall be charged on the Consolidated Fund. Allowances not assignable, etc., and non-application of the Income Tax Act 1967 6. (1) The allowances and privileges granted under this Act shall not be assignable or transferable, or liable to be attached, sequestrated or levied upon in respect of any claim. (2) The Income Tax Act 1967 [Act 53] shall not apply to the allowances and privileges granted under this Act. Istana Negara (Royal Allowances) 7 Amendment of Schedules 7. The Cabinet may by order amend the Schedules from time to time. Repeal 8. The Special Pensions (Raja Permaisuri Agong) Act 1979 [Act 223] is repealed.
