Federal Government to take all steps and measures and do all matters and things necessary for, incidental to or connected with discharge of its responsibility 4 Laws of Malaysia A CT 217 5 LAWS OF MALAYSIA Act 217 DECLARATION OF AN AREA IN THE BINTULU DISTRICT TO BE A FEDERAL PORT ACT 1979 An Act to provide for the declaration of an area in the Bintulu District in the Fourth Division of the State of Sarawak to be a federal port, for the transfer to and vesting in the Federal Government of responsibility for the development, control and administration of such port and for all other matters and things necessary therefor, incidental thereto or connected therewith. [15 August 1981] BE IT ENACTED by the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the advice and consent of the Dewan Negara and Dewan Rakyat in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Declaration of an Area in the Bintulu District to be a Federal Port Act 1979. Interpretation 2. In this Act, “Minister” means the Federal Minister charged with responsibility for ports and harbours. Declaration of area to be federal port by Minister 3. The Minister may with effect from such date as he may specify, by order in the Gazette, declare an area in the Bintulu District in the Fourth Division of the State of Sarawak to be a federal port to be known as Bintulu Port. 6 Laws of Malaysia ACT 217 Federal Government to be responsible for development, control and administration of area declared to be federal port 4. On the Minister so declaring the area to be a federal port under section 3, the responsibility for the development, control and administration of that area shall be transferred to and vest in the Federal Government. Federal Government to take all steps and measures and do all matters and things necessary for, incidental to or connected with discharge of its responsibility 5.
