Overview

This licence is required for all buyers, sellers, collectors, wholesalers, exporters, and transporters of vegetables in Malaysia. Retailers are exempt from needing this licence. It permits the licensed entities to engage in the buying, selling, and exporting of vegetables.

Application requirements

- This licence is non-transferable - The licence must be displayed at the business premises - Each purchase or sale of vegetables must be documented with an appropriate invoice in Malay, stating the buyer or seller's name, type of vegetable, grade, quantity, price, and total value paid - If requested by FAMA, the licence holder must submit a monthly report on vegetable purchases, sales, and exports, to be sent to FAMA's office by the first week of the following month. The licence holder must also provide any additional information required by FAMA from time to time - The licence holder must maintain a business register at the premises stated in the licence, recording in Malay the total of each purchase, sale, or export, grade, quantity, and buying/selling/exporting price and stock balance - The licence holder cannot appoint assistants to buy vegetables on their behalf without written permission from FAMA. Assistants may only assist the licence holder in areas specified in the licence - This licence must be renewed annually - The licence holder must inform FAMA of any changes to the business address - The licence holder must display a sign at the front of the business premises stating the following details: - Licensed Vegetable Buyer - Licence Holder's Name - Licence Number - Date - Daily Vegetable Purchase Price - The licence holder must provide suitable facilities as required by FAMA - The licence holder must comply with FAMA's Grading, Packaging, and Labelling Regulations
